Raina too good to be left out

Half way through the ongoing Asia Cup there have been few memorable performances to watch out for. Suresh Raina has made a statement with his willow to take on the mettle of next genetaion batsman. The left hander looks compact with all the shots in the kityy. Since his debut in 2006 against England he has been rated higly of his batting skills. Infact Gregg Chappel went on to say that he was the future of the indian batting line up. But after his initial magical performance he failed to captliaze the oppurtunity and was shunted out of the indian team. In the recently concluded IPL he played some fine knocks for Chennai Super Kings and finally he showed his class and tenprament. He has two centuries in his kitty and is a very good student of the game as well. With compact techniue and wide range of shots he is to watch out for. Raina is a brilliant fieler and mind you he is only 21 so one can expect only better from him in the coming days. His cover drive, movement of feet is impressive something the selectors would be watching with keen intrest. In the coming days he is prepared to prove a point in international cricket

Jayasuriya defying to make a point

Sanath Jayasuriya needs no introduction in the World cricket. The left hander has an habbit of making a point now and then with his stupendous performance. 39 years is where the majority of the internatinal cricketers are either busy with their off feild activity but Jasayuriya believs either ways. He merely blasted the Bangaldesh attack with his murderopus approach. He is credited on havibg revlutionzd the batting in ODI with and he showed his glimpse of thundervolt in 1996 World Cup. Since then he has been the indispensible member of the Sri Lankan squad. Infact the team batting revolvs around him as the team expects him to give flying start every time he goes out to bat. His mere presence at the crase gives a soothing vives in the dressing room. On his 39 Bithday he once gain took on his critics who questioned his age factor. Jayasuriya has made a point that its not the age that matters but performance tops the criteria. He went on to score 130 runs in 88 balls and was almost heading for the double ton in the shorter version of the game. Jayasuriya off spin has been more than handy for the lankan team. Bowlers aroun the world are wary to bowl to him as any width will go beyond the ropes. The world wants to know from where he derives so much of power that his mere flick of the wrist sees the bowl crushing into the stands. Jayasuriya made his cameback into the Sri Lankan ODI squad in the Asia Cup and he proved that he still has the hunger and passion to perform at the international level.
